This floor provides virtual tools and services for education
and scientific communities on a global scale. The facility offers integrated
resources in a virtual networking and cooperative environment for collaboration,
research, exhibition, networking, teaching and learning.
Renowned speakers, post-docs and graduate students will
contribute lectures, posters and other materials for dissemination via
IVI. Teachers can access IVI tools to communicate, train and exchange
knowledge; while their students can share information, post projects,
interact with peers and experts, and learn by taking web-based courses
with references and links to other resource sites. A personalized mentoring
system will support after-school learning and networking to enhance scientific
literacy. As a start, IVI will collaborate with the NU-based Materials
World Modules pre-college program.
